The Rock posta il teaser del suo prossimo film John Henry and the Statesmen

The Rock Dwayne Johnson ha postato su Instagram il teaser del suo prossimo film: John Henry and the Statesmen è un progetto Netflix

Netflix e The Rock collaboreranno per la produzione di John Henry and the Statesmen. L’annuncio è arrivato dopo la pubblicazione di un post sul profilo di Dwayne Johnson, in cui l’attore racconta quanto sia ispirato per la messa in scena di uno dei personaggi della sua infanzia a cui è più affezionato. Questo film metterà in scena alcune delle figure più famose del folklore internazionale, esattamente come John Henry, uno steel-driving man, ovvero un operaio che aveva il compito di martellare un trapano d’acciaio nella roccia per creare dei fori con il fine di inserire al loro interno delle cariche esplosive e costruire così un tunnel ferroviario. Nelle leggende americane si dice che quest’uomo aveva talmente tanta forza che una volta riuscì ad avere la meglio contro una macchina foratrice a vapore. Il suo cuore però, in questa occasione, non resse lo sforzo e John Henry morì stringendo tra le mani il suo martello. Nel film in cui The Rock sarà protagonista oltre che produttore, saranno inseriti anche altri personaggi collegati alle leggende folkloristiche come ha anticipato l’attore nel suo post Instagram: “In questo film guiderò un gruppo formato dalle figure folkloristiche più popolari figure e leggende di diverse culture provenienti da tutto il mondo“.

Per adesso però non si sa molto altro sul film ma dopo le dichiarazioni di The Rock possiamo aspettarci un cast corale nutrito. Per la realizzazione di John Henry and the Statesmen Dwayne Johnson si unirà nuovamente al regista di Jumanji: Benvenuti nella giungla, Jake Kasdan, che figura anche tra i produttori insieme a Seven Bucks Productions, Dany Garcia e Hiram Garcia.
