Kevin Smith festeggia il Natale assieme alla famiglia ed all’attore Jason Mewes, con il quale ha creato la coppia Jay e Silent Bob

L’attore, regista, e sceneggiatore Kevin Smith è diventato un’icona grazie a film di culto come Clerks, ed anche grazie all’invenzione della coppia Jay & Silent Bob, interpretati da Jason Mewes e da sé stesso. Il legame tra i due travalica i set ed il cinema, infatti lo stesso Smith ha postato nel giorno di Natale una foto nella quale la sua famiglia e quella di Mewes si sono ritrovate insieme per celebrare questa giornata speciale.

Smith però ha voluto anche far sentire vicini i propri fan, raccontando in un lungo post su Instagram quelle che sono le sue sensazioni riguardo al Natale, e quale film lo lega maggiormente a questa festa.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays from Jingle Jay, Silent Night Bob & their families! My favorite Christmas movie of all time is SCROOGED, thanks to Bill Murray’s emotional speech at the end of the flick. I’ve loved that monologue since I first paid to see SCROOGED in 1988 and I’ve always endeavored to live my life like Frank Cross after his Christmas awakening. Here is the best part of that monologue: “It’s Christmas Eve! It's the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer. We smile a little easier. We cheer a little more. For a couple of hours out of the whole year, we are the people that we always hoped we would be. It’s a miracle. It's really a sort of a miracle because it happens every Christmas Eve. And if you waste that miracle, you're gonna burn for it. I know what I’m talking about. You have to do something. You have to take a chance. You DO have to get involved. There are people having trouble making their miracle happen. There are people that don't have enough to eat. There are people that are cold. You can go out and say hello to these people. “SOS Fantasmi è il mio film natalizio preferito– ha dichiarato Kevin Smith– soprattutto grazie al finale emozionante nel quale Bill Murray fa un discorso toccante che ho amato fin dall’inizio. Nella parte più bella del monologo Murray dice: Natale è la notte nella quale ci comportiamo un po’ più bene, sorridiamo più facilmente, e per un paio d’ore siamo il tipo di persone che avremmo sempre desiderato essere”.

Smith ha proseguito facendo notare che questa sensazione può essere portata avanti ogni giorno, e che lui finalmente ci sta riuscendo. Dopo un attacco di cuore che ha messo seriamente a rischio la sua vita l’attore e regista ha infatti preso una nuova consapevolezza di se stesso e di ciò che gli sta intorno.
