Star Wars: Episodio 9 – lo scenografo celebra la fine del suo lavoro

Lo scenografo Jake Lunt Davies ha annunciato di aver completato il suo lavoro in Star Wars: Episodio 9, postando su Instagram una serie di immagini che mostrano le sue innumerevoli creazioni

I film di Star Wars hanno offerto agli spettatori un sacco di creature memorabili, grazie soprattutto all’occhio creativo dello scenografo Jake Lunt Davies. L’artista ha condiviso coi suoi follower su Instagram la fine del suo lavoro in Star Wars: Episodio 9, mostrando loro molte delle sue creazioni riunite in un’unica immagine. Ecco cosa c’è scritto nella didascalia che accompagna la foto:

Dunque, questa settimana è finito il mio contratto con Star Wars: Episodio 9… questo significa che dopo 5 anni e 5 film ho terminato di lavorare a Star Wars. Quando ero un bambino questa era la mia ambizione infantile e ancora non riesco a credere di aver avuto realmente questa opportunità di entrare a far parte e di contribuire all’eredità della galassia di Star Wars.

Lunt Davies continua poi ringraziando i suoi tanti collaboratori e colleghi, dai registi del film agli artisti responsabili di aver trasformato i suoi concept, le sue idee in una forma tangibile. Uno sguardo all’immagine postata ricorderà ai fan quanto è variegata la galassia e quante nuove creazioni sono emerse al suo interno negli ultimi anni. Anche se l’artista ammette che il suo lavoro sul prossimo film è stato completato, ancora ci vuole del tempo prima che le riprese generali finiscano ufficialmente.

Sappiamo ancora poco di Episodio 9, a parte il fatto che la Lucasfilm ha confermato che il film segnerà la conclusione della Skywalker Saga.

So this week my contract ended on Star Wars EpIX….which kind of means after 5 years and 5 movies, I’ve finally finished on Star Wars. As a kid this was my childhood ambition and I still can’t believe that I’ve now actually had this opportunity to be part of and contribute to the legacy of the Star Wars galaxy. Above are a few of the things I designed for TFA, Rogue 1, TLJ and Solo. However as much as I and my concept colleagues @lukedfisher @martin_rezard and Ivan Manzella get to dream up all these characters and ideas, none of it would happen or become reality without the brilliant team we work with under Neal Scanlan’s leadership – the sculptors; the mould makers, foam shop and seamers; the fabrication team; the model makers; the mechies, animatronic designers and electronics guys; the hair team; the painters and make-up artists; and the performers that finally bring these creatures to life. Thank you Neal for asking me to be part of the team. Beyond the CFX department I’d also thank Costume Designers Michael Kaplan, @glyn_dillon and Dave Crossman plus the CG artists at @ilmvfx for adding their magic to our work.
