Skyscraper: il nuovo film con Dwayne Johnson arriverà in America il 13 Luglio 2018

Universal Pictures ha annunciato una data di uscita per il rilascio di Skyscraper, un importante tentpole d’azione guidata dalla superstar Dwayne Johnson (Furious 7, San Andreas). Il film arriverà nei cinema americani Venerdì 13 luglio 2018. Johnson ha registrato tutta la notizia sul suo post di Instagram:

BREAKING: Grateful to share this big news. Universal Studios and @Legendary Pictures have declared JULY 13th 2018 SKYSCRAPER weekend. Massive scale of a movie we've been developing for almost two years and we start shooting this August – in CHINA. Our script, written and to be directed by Rawson Thurber, focuses on the world's largest skyscraper – that's on fire. A towering inferno almost a mile into the sky and my wife and kids are trapped on the top floor. My character is a disabled US War Vet and former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader. This character is inspired by the thousands of disabled US veterans and war heroes I've had the honor of shaking hands with over the years. This character is also an homage to the every day man and woman who, despite all odds, will dig deep and do everything possible to protect and save their family. Research for this film has been a real education for me (and that's saying a lot considering my horrible freshman year GPA) from meeting with the world's top skyscraper architects to spending amazing time with our US combat and disabled vets. L’icona globale Dwayne Johnson conduce il cast Skyscraper nei panni dell’ex leader del team dell’FBI Hostage Rescue e veterano di guerra degli Stati Uniti, che ora valuta la sicurezza per i grattacieli. Riceve un incarico in Cina, dove si trova il più alto e più sicuro edificio al mondo improvvisamente in fiamme, e lui ne resta incastrato all’interno. Un uomo ricercato in fuga, Will deve trovare i responsabili, cancellare il suo nome e in qualche modo salvare la sua famiglia che è intrappolata all’interno dell’edificio… al di sopra della linea di fuoco.

Scritto e diretto da Rawson Marshall Thurber (Central Intelligence, We’re the Millers), il thriller d’azione in 3D è prodotto da Beau Flynn (San Andreas, Baywatch), Johnson e Thurber. I produttori esecutivi di Skyscraper sono Dany Garcia (Baywatch, Ballers) e Hiram Garcia (San Andreas, Central Intelligence). Wendy Jacobson (San Andreas) è invece la co-produttrice.

Con uno dei programmi più trafficati di Hollywood, vedremo Johnson riprendere il ruolo di Hobbs in Furious 7 il 14 aprile, in Baywatch il 26 maggio, nella stagione 3 di Ballers della HBO il 23 luglio, e nel reboot di Jumanji il 22 dicembre.
